Mary Oliver's poem begins with the trappings of narrative. How does this opening lead us into the poem? How does it open to reverie? How does she use line break and stanza break to make meaning? I have numerous other questions, of course, from the symbolism of foxes to the leap at the end. I'm curious how you all read this.
